Water soluble, easy cleanup or big mess?
Okay, I was looking at Winsor and Newton oil paint supplies, for I want to start painting and they have a brain balled Artisan water mixable oil colour. I am not sure if it is good or now. I would like to have an easy clean up.
I mean can I just scrape it off the palate with my knife. ^^
Naw, I was affraid water soluble would run and such I didn't want toxic paint so I got the water ones.
All paint is toxic, regardless of what you use, the room should be well ventilated. For easy clean up I use acrylic, for pieces that I want to spend more time on I go towards oil, and water soluble oil paints take just as much time to clean up. I scrap the excess paint off and wipe the palette with a wet cloth (or turpentine if oil paint) and clean the brushes accordingly with a special soap. Also, the paint will run more depending on how much water is added of course. You could try a Master Touch palette, which will keep your paint from running off the edge of your palette and with the lid, it makes your paint last much much longer.
